EGS Grant Presentation
As reported in our August 3rd post, the Elgin Area Historical Society (EAHS) is our 2011 recipient of the Chester Bowser Grant. Presentation of the award was made at our evening meeting on August 18th.
As our president looks on, our Scholarship/Grant Committee Chair, Lea Ellsworth, explains to the membership and to EAHS Director, Liz Marson how pleased we are to be able to support this indexing project which will benefit many genealogists research in the Elgin area.
After the presentation, there are big smiles from both the representatives of EGS and EAHS.
Now is a good time to thank Lea and her committee for their devotion to making certain the Chester Bowser scholarship and grant funds go to deserving candidates. In today's economic environment, it is more important then ever for societies to support projects beneficial to the genealogical community.
